Saige's Journal: Yay! I gots Dead Can Dance tix!

I just wanted to say that I am very excited - my birthday this year is going to be most wonderful. I just bought tickets to the Dead Can Dance show at The Paramount here in Seattle, which is on my birthday!

I never thought I'd get the chance to see them live, but the reunion tour they're doing has given me the chance! I've got Toward the Within, and watched the DVD in the box set, and I can tell the energy live is amazing - and I'll get to experience it firsthand!

The web site, www.deadcandance.com [deadcandance.com] currently lists European concert dates, but the NA dates are not yet listed - though Seattle went on sale today.

Who knows, perhaps there might be shows around you that aren't sold out yet?

They're in Berlin on my birthday, Cologne three days before that, and I've already got plans on both days.

*whimper*

Rush is on tour late this fall and is actually visiting Germany in September (can't remember when they were in Germany last), but I've already seen them several times and probably wouldn't be able to convince BoE to go anyway. Meanwhile, BoE would want to see DCD, and I've never seen DCD live. :-(

Ah well, at least it's good to know there is new material coming out after all these years.

Or, as I just saw, if you can't get to the show, they are selling discs from the European tour dates: www.dcddiscs.com [dcddiscs.com]. As they are doing about 30 minutes worth of brand new stuff, they might be worth getting.

I'm going to have to look into getting one myself!
