Does you eating cheese abundantly count? (2, Interesting)

When exactly does a repetitive action become a meme?

Sorry. I probably should have included a link. [slashdot.org]

Disclaimer: I am not endorsing the abndonment of friends, just reporting what I have witnessed.

That eating cheese thing is too funny. I mean, think about it. Is it an insult really? How can it be? I personally love cheese? I would it eat it abundantly if I could.

Can't you just picture FK sitting there eating his cheese abundantly? It makes for an amusing picture, no? ;-)

Re:Does you eating cheese abundantly count? (2, Insightful)

Next photo contest, I will try to have a picture of me eating cheese abundantly.

Depends on your feelings about the French (1)

StalinsNotDead (764374) | more than 8 years ago | (#13075843)

Cheese-eating could be considered an insult, depending on which ethnic slurs you reference and one's attitude towards the ethnicity to which the eating of cheese refers.

An alternative would be: (and I am not suggesting it is true)

FortKnox dodges soap ... deftly.

Strictly speaking, any concept is a meme for broad values of "concept". Since the point of modeling ideas in terms of mems is to measure their virulence and spread, web usage refers to any easily describable and popular text formula or text template as a meme.

Oh no, it's contagious (1)

So, your friends post something silly, which bothers you enough to post something... silly. So now people who never heard of the "eventually mongers" get notices about new journal entries about this silliness. I might even post a journal entry myself .... e~v~e~n~t~u~^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hno, fuggedaboutit.

See, I haven't heard a thing about this. However I'm not that worried about it; memes make their way around the internet...eventually.

And then someone complains how "Thats not what a meme is!"... not eventually, but instantaneously afterwards.

Not that I care, I'm just curious, but what did I ever do to get foed by you?

/me goes back to being insanely busy and mostly lurking (sorry, I noticed the orange dot next to your name and got interested).

Oh dear, at this point, I have no idea! I think there was a time when I tended to react to people blasting one of my comments as a personal affront, as in "I couldn't possibly want to hear from this person if I can help it"....

Since I don't remember, and you asked, and you're a friend of a friend and all that ... I'll return you to neutral status. Same for the other person who replied to my reply :).

/. should allow us to annotate why we change status, if only for our own future edification. Of course one could keep a log in a local file.

their not there... (1)

TechnoLust (528463) | more than 8 years ago | (#13076755)

you'll learn the difference... eventually. ;-)

He spelled it correctly. He just for got the word "that". As in "that there meme".

Gotcher back, FK.

i'd like to point out... (1)

kesuki (321456) | more than 8 years ago | (#13077886)

that RxWxS does the one sentance entries a lot, the 'eventually' meme was just a new variation.
