  • "Lets start with the obvious, why do you make the odd assumption that Adam was created when the earth was 6 days old? How long was a day exactly before the sun was created? Oh right, days didn't exist, so that would be a pretty bad assumption to make. The bible does not give any reliable indication of how long creation took in human terms."

There is no "odd assumption" going on here. Genesis 1:
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over th

    • Man, where to begin. First up, the 7 days. Genesis was not written by God, it was written by one or more people, we're not really sure who, although lots of people give credit to Moses. So lets say God comes along and tells somebody from ancient times how he created the universe. Its safe to assume that God is much smarter, and much more knowledgable than any person. So God would have to tell the story to him in his own language, and in a way he can understand. What was recorded in the bible is a pers

And why do you believe that the bible is a literal and factual record of history despite the fact that it cannot possible be so? There is nothing that says the bible is factual, the word of God doesn't mean God is telling you the history of time, it means God is talking to you. Who says God wasn't just telling things to people that he wanted them to know, and to teach others, so that they would live the way
        • Now that you have admitted that parts of the bible are figuative, your entire argument has gone out the window. How do you know which parts are figurative and which parts are literal? How do you know which parts have been altered by people and which parts haven't? Which version of the bible is the literal word of God? And how do you know that it is correct, and all the others are wrong?

The bible contradicts itself lots of times. Lets take Genesis for instance, in Genesis 1 it says God made all the anim

As I said above, the proper hermeneutical approach is to understand something written in a literal sense, unless there is no way it can possibly be understodd that way. As an example, when Jesus said that He would, "destroy this temple and rebuild it in three days," there is a clarification placed along side it saying, "this

            • So, to summarize your insanity: "The bible is 100% perfectly accurate and literal, except where its wrong, then its not, but everything else is till perfect". Yeah, that makes perfect sense. I can't possibly immagine why people who can think consider you to be irrational and brainwashed.

And try hooked on phonics, you might be able to understand what people say better. Genesis 1 says god made man after he had already made all the animals. Genesis two says man was lonely, so god made animals for him. Try

Genesis two says man was lonely, so god made animals for him. Trying to ignore this blatent contradiction will not make it go away."

It's not phonics it's grammar. Phonics deals with pronunciation while grammar deals with structure. If you want to accuse me of misrepresenting something, you can at least have the decency to use the right terminology. The g

                • "The grammar of Genesis 2 does not indicate that God made the animals to make man happy. It says He brought them to the man to see what he would name them, and what the man named them, that was their name. There is no contradiction. Perhaps you could try reading what's there instead of blindly responding with the same fallacies."

Bullshit, you are ignoring the plain and simple facts that anyone who can read should be able to grasp. To quote the bible (KJV):

GEN 2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that

1 + 1 = 3, for large values of 1.
