Tau Zero's Journal: People are masochistic, part deux

Since I had a shitty day and I got some mod points, I decided to share my misery with some of the masochists out there.

I followed a likely link and modded some people up. If my theory is correct, this will cause them angst and discomfort as they feel most at home with curmudgeonly remarks and other negative feedback.

Results of this experiment are pending.

Umm, well, I'm feeling generous, so if you come to Boston you get a cookie. In fact, you get one for coming here, another for not modding me, and if you did mod me, you get a total of three.

Rather than confirm or deny that I modded you in any particular place, I shall instead maintain the anonymity of both the discussion in which I moderated and the participant(s) who received the moderations.

This is not out of any desire to obtain cookies or avoid calories on my part, but to maintain the required controls for this and future experiments. I can't go around biasing people's reactions because of how they think I'll mod them later; that would contaminate my data.

Well, I do have a bottle of 1800 and 3 limes waiting to be consumed. The plan was for Friday night, but $girlfriend wasn't feeling well enough. If you can make it sometime soon, you can join us for a night of drunkenness and (probably) movies, but, uh, we'll kick you out of the room after a bit.
