Journal pagsz's Journal: Oakland A's Win 20th Straight Game
Yesterday, the Oakland A's won their 20th consecutive game, defeating the Kansas City Royals in dramatic fashion. After the team blew an 11 run lead, Scott Hatteberg hit a game-winning, pinch hit home run with one out in the ninth (I missed it! I fell asleep just after the Royals tied it!).
The A's 20th consecutive win broke the old American League record of 19, held by the 1906 Chicago White Sox and the 1947 New York Yankees. The Major League record is 26, held by the 1916 New York Giants.
