Journal fustakrakich's Journal: The glory is in the pleasure of experience. 14

God had to create us to see what it created. We are its eyes and ears, and what do we put out?? The Sun, The Star, The National Inquirer (Which, I have to admit, might be more accurate than the Times). So, now you gotta think, "Oops!", and you run off and join the circus.

The glory is in the pleasure of experience.

  • I mean, it's an "OK" fable, but "experience" seems a cop-out.
    • Why what? Ever hear of walking in a man's shoes? The best you can do is empathize.

And why do you reject god's presence? It's either everywhere, or nowhere, all time or no time. (Borg/iBorg, as you like to put it).

      • I'm not sure you're slicing "omnipresence" correctly there.
        • Well great, tell where the glitch is, and we'll try to correct it.

          • God is omnipresent, but God's Holiness is antithetical to sin.
            • Describe "sin"... What separates "god" from "holiness"?

              • Sin is rebellion against God.
                • That means nothing. How do you "rebel"? What does "against god" mean? How does it differ from "against self"?

                  • You rebel through disobeying. "Against God" means neglecting what it says in His Word, the Bible. As a Christian, if you are in sincere prayer, you can ask, and expect to hear an answer harmonious with that Word. And frequently, that Word is going to drive you to do things that are "against self"; that is, what the natural, carnal flesh would advise you do.
                    • Whose bible? There are many, and with conflicting accounts of events. I have no reason to believe your tribe's accounts are any different. They are all just cultural rules and attempts to create a "supernatural authority" to enforce them, through the high priests of course.

                    • Oh, yeah, the whole "all these translations" dodge. Let me know how that works out for ya in Eternity, Boss.
                    • Oh, that's right. The Christian *bible* is all there is. You seem to dodging the existence of entirely different tribes, with different ideas about what "eternity" means to them. Please indicate what makes yours so special.

                    • You first. Please indicate how pantheism is functionally different from atheism: he who believes everything may not believe nothing, but continuously variable belief is just so much hot air.
If your compass can't claim to indicate true North, what good is it? A doorstop, I suppose.

One way to make your old car run better is to look up the price of a new model.
