Have you clicked the friends/foes/friend-of-fried/foe-of-friend pill today? It will show you who that persons friend-of-friend and foe-of-friends are. Its really quite confusing.

I'm assuming that some Map Datastructure is being used here (think multidimensional linked lists if you are unfamiliar with Maps and graph theory). That would make it relatively easy to make a page that shows friends, foes, freaks, fans, friend-of-friends, foe-of-friends.
My question is why make it so spread out and complex? Why not just make a page like http://www.slashdot.org/~FortKnox/relationships? Also, I would REALLY like it if a 'friend' and 'foe' pearl would exist ALONGSIDE friend-of-friend pills. Its hard to tell who my actual friends are now-a-days.

Why have some of the pills gone away from the comments pages? I used to see the green sphere and the blue sphere next to your posts, now I only see a double green pill. If they are going to limit the number of symbols on a post, wouldn't I rather have an indication that you are a friend and a fan rather than that you are a friend of a friend?

  Yeah, that's what I mean about the schpeel on having a pill instead of the pearls. I don't modify posts from friend-of-a-friend or foe-of-a-friend at all (cause most of the friend-of-a-friend is a friend to begin with, so it gets double upped). The only thing I do with my posts is to up friends posts, and down foes posts, and (after you have like 15 friends) its hard to remember who is my friend with all these friend-of-a-friend pills...

    I up my friends posts and up my enemies posts even more! Recently though my enemies haven't annoyed me enough to bother responding to them.

    I now have both round pearls and tablet like pills working! I guess the bug report worked.

i think it's a bug. they should be showing the colored pearls in addition to the pills. If it's someone I consider neutral but has a pill, show the grey pearl then the pill.
