Chacham's Journal: Line: I don't eat much; i eat often.

I was invited to, and ate a meal by my cousin this past friday night. Going elsewhere is something i dread, but i'll do it now and then.

I had forewarned him that i didn't eat much which he said wasn't a problem. ("They" always say that.)

After the bread i didn't eat fish. After the soup, i didn't eat the chicken. I reminded them by saying "i don't eat much". That's when they looked at my enormous girth and seemed dumbfounded. At which point i added "...i eat often." Which gave them all a chuckle, even though i kind of meant it seriously. When they laughed i realized how funny it was.

I eat in spurts. But usually, not too much at one time.

Anyway, that's when they brought out the cholent, but that's another story.

Btw, nice line. In fact, I think I could reverse it and say that I eat much, but not often.
