Journal Vorondil28's Journal: Advance Wars By Web
In case this doesn't get posted:
Vorondil28 writes In my never-ending quest to find new and exciting ways to burn my Sunday afternoons, I came across Advance Wars By Web. AWBW started out as a humble forum where players played an adaptation of Intellegent Systems' strategy game, Advance Wars, by post. From there it grew into a short-lived, more automated email-based system. But then in November of 2004, Aaron Marriner got his point-and-click, web-based Advance Wars clone up and running. Since then, it's grown into a surprisingly accurate reproduction of the GBA/DS classics with all the units, maps, and all but a few of the CO's from all three games. Players can play public or private games with up to eight players on any one of the thousands (2,980 and counting) of user-created maps right in their browsers! Organized tournament-play is also available. Advance Wars By Web is definitely a must-play for anybody looking to scratch their turn-based strategy itch, and while you're there, don't miss out on some of Marriner's other web-based games.
