11 june- blinder's birthday

he steadfastedly refuses to tell me what he wants for his birthday, or even to make definite plans

So here's a poll:

a.) A guitar

b.) a drum

c.) Nothing, because it's obviously what he wants (blinder, you are not permitted to choose this answer.)

d.) get him trmj, but don't let trmj cook

e.) take him out for dinner (Warning: this involves getting him to commit to a restaurant)

spite) a six-pack of beer

Calories so far today: 400 (breakfast)

Did y'all know i'm trying hard to get back down to my former weight? I'm still trying. I'm fighting innate laziness, repeated flares, the lure of chocolate, and the side effects of medications.

500 fewer calories than i burn in a day puts me at barely 1000 calories. :(

Not much chocolate fits into that, so i'm developing some willpower. Fortunately, it makes a nice, obsessive distraction from everything else i'm burnt out about in my life. Going back to the gym tonight, determined to break the 25-minute barrier.

Other news: blinder's dad visited. After the baby shower and wedding in my family in the 2 weeks previous, we're now definitely due for some down time and quiet.

Yay, quiet!!!!

Some of you may have noticed the friends-only restriction on my journals now. I just don't have the energy to deal with it. If you haven't been friended but want to comment, shoot me an email.

1- Day trip to the franklin park zoo! 2- A new Tattoo! 3- If you give him trmj, he has to give him back.

get b1inder a card you make yourself. festoon it with gold stars, string, gluten free macaroni and glitter glue. then get him a football jersey of a nearby team but replace the "number" with his (terribly advanced) age and replace his (boring) last name with b1inder. then have both of you massaged by latex clad asian women.

Yes. That is a most excellent birthday!

NONONO! A six pack of STOUT! If he drinks beer like I do, he'll get to drink beer without any of the nasty side effects for you- because he'll get full before he gets drunk. Beer is liquid bread- and Stout is like dark rye with extra molasses.

Blinder doesn't drink beer like anyone but straightedge kids. :)

Sol, I vote for culture).

Because, why not?

That's not true! He also drinks beer like me!

P.S. I cast my vote for 'percussive trinket.'

Heh- he drinks the same beer i do- root beer, which is non-alcoholic by nature. Hence the 'spite' portion, if i got him a sixpack of alcohol, he'd stare at me awhile, shake his head, and go play music. The beer would sit in our fridge till buffer came over and drank it.

Which has happened before, the buffer coming over and clearing away unwanted alcohol, that is.

Mmmm... I may have to make an exception to my 'not a drop of beer' policy for the root variety. With ice cream. Mmmmm.

I used to do this a lot. Even at my own house. Even at houses that weren't my own. Even with alcohol that was wanted.

Used to.

In my defense I *was* the one that supplied the alcohol... generally.

Speaking of which, I think you guys are low. I should swing by with another token 6 pack. Safest alcohol storage place in the world is Blinder and Sol's fridge. It's like the fort knox of beer.

It's also the most amusing place to store such things. I mean, straight-edge Blinder and allergic to gluten Sol have beer in their fridge.

Weren't there like 2 Yuenglings left in his fridge when Blinderz moved from Ballmer?

okay, lemme think here.

i wouldn't mind a quiet thing, maybe at a place like pf's with you, n, t, f, j, p and e?

trinkets... i like the little trinkets -- i have that special little wooden box for them *sigh*
guitar? now, if we are talking native instrument's guitar rig 2, then we're on to something (right ellem?)
but any gift is precious.

i've just had a lot on my mind lately, and unfortunately, the birthday thing has taken a backseat.

after last year, i really shouldn't do that :)

Just for that, you should have to wear a pink princess crown all day.

Yeah - even to work.

Your RoF's master plan seems to be working. Resistance is futile :-P

You know my idea. I have others too.

I need to stop by for a visit sometime soon, whenever you two are up for it, it's been way too long and I really have no excuses for that.

Something he already has, but in a varient that he would never think to get for himself. For instance, assuming he has several microphones, maybe he doesn't have a really nice one. If he does have a really-nice one, maybe it would be better as a stereo pair.
