he steadfastedly refuses to tell me what he wants for his birthday, or even to make definite plans

So here's a poll:

c.) Nothing, because it's obviously what he wants (blinder, you are not permitted to choose this answer.)

d.) get him trmj, but don't let trmj cook

e.) take him out for dinner (Warning: this involves getting him to commit to a restaurant)

movie) forget this entry, i can't think of any he doesn't own

Calories so far today: 400 (breakfast)

Did y'all know i'm trying hard to get back down to my former weight? I'm still trying. I'm fighting innate laziness, repeated flares, the lure of chocolate, and the side effects of medications.

500 fewer calories than i burn in a day puts me at barely 1000 calories. :(

Not much chocolate fits into that, so i'm developing some willpower. Fortunately, it makes a nice, obsessive distraction from everything else i'm burnt out about in my life. Going back to the gym tonight, determined to break the 25-minute barrier.

Other news: blinder's dad visited. After the baby shower and wedding in my family in the 2 weeks previous, we're now definitely due for some down time and quiet.

NONONO! A six pack of STOUT! If he drinks beer like I do, he'll get to drink beer without any of the nasty side effects for you- because he'll get full before he gets drunk. Beer is liquid bread- and Stout is like dark rye with extra molasses.

Heh- he drinks the same beer i do- root beer, which is non-alcoholic by nature. Hence the 'spite' portion, if i got him a sixpack of alcohol, he'd stare at me awhile, shake his head, and go play music. The beer would sit in our fridge till buffer came over and drank it.

Which has happened before, the buffer coming over and clearing away unwanted alcohol, that is.

In my defense I *was* the one that supplied the alcohol... generally.

Speaking of which, I think you guys are low. I should swing by with another token 6 pack. Safest alcohol storage place in the world is Blinder and Sol's fridge. It's like the fort knox of beer.

It's also the most amusing place to store such things. I mean, straight-edge Blinder and allergic to gluten Sol have beer in their fridge.

Weren't there like 2 Yuenglings left in his fridge when Blinderz moved from Ballmer?
