Chacham's Journal: Hard drive died

When it rains it pours.

I finally got Diablo II running under wineX. I had typed in a battle.net username and password, and started to register it. During that time I figured I'd check my speaker cable, since I was hearing static. That was bad. I hit the power cable, and the computer turned off.

When I turned it on, it tried doing an fsck, but the drive kept returning errors. I think it was { drive seek error } or something like that. Last time this happened, I ghosted the drive to retrieve information from it. I guess it's no more Western Digital's for me. They're nothing but trouble.

Maybe *this* time I'll actually use backups....

This is rather distressing. I hope to turn the computer on later and see no errors.
