Journal zuki's Journal: A first entry - somewhere to start
As for many others, Slashdot has become a part of my daily ritual, one of the sites I need to check and post on almost every day.
Some of the topics are really of a most provocative nature, and help me understand the way things are evolving ever so rapidly on the cutting edge of fields such as connected, networked relationships and interactions, as well as the rise of a true information-based society.
This is in fact a very primitive glimpse on a segment of the population who probably will be the first to experience and be exposed to the nascent interaction between humanity and the ever-more advanced machines it creates. For the future, - while promising all sorts of unfathomable new technology -, probably also will help some very dark and incomprehensible things take place in a way no one expected.
Also, many of the posts here have links to very interesting and informative sources which I would have never found on my own.
A place where I am not ashamed to admit that I am fascinated by some of the new software programs being developed, where I can read about a new scientific feat that just got publicized, or where I can enjoy being driven to jump into sometimes profound discussion with people I have never met, but who seem to have many similar interests to mine..... Sure sounds like home!!
