In further stirring up trouble news:
Judge Overturns Controversial SF Hand Gun Ban

So I think the sane thing happened here, and the [clear to me] Constitutional bit about arms was upheld, against a city popular vote. (Though it was done at a State level so far.)

Plus, you gotta love this sentence from the article:

Measure H was placed on the November ballot by the San Francisco County Board of Supervisors, who were frustrated by an alarmingly high number of gun-related homicides in the city of 750,000.

Wow. Abuse the ambiguity of the English language much?

  • It seems blisteringly obvious to me, but they should be concentrating on the criminals, rather than hardware. Good people with guns aren't a threat to anyone except criminals. Stopping law abiding citizens from having guns, only serves to make the criminals' work environment more safe. Now, normally I'm one for workplace safety improvements, but I really don't think it should extend to criminals.

    • Yeah, I'm not sure what SF thought it was trying to accomplish. Oakland is right across the bridge...

      Really, who else would the law affect? No one does a non-concealed carry. So that affects who, private security? Anyone who has a concealed weapon is already committing a crime, unless they have a concealed carry permit. So.. you're banning people who have a concealed carry permit? I don't get it.

Anyone can make an omelet with eggs. The trick is to make one with none.
