i had the chance to mod, and i was really looking for posts to mod up, but i really wanted to do a good job. So, i read a bunch this morning and looked at how others did it. Then i left to run some erands. I ended up seeing a friend i dont really get to see that often, so i talked to her for a while. When i came back home, it was too late for me to mod. oh well, i think ill get m2 soon, maybe i wont screw that up.

  • I've never gotten MOD points... ;) but if I were in your shoes.. ouch!

and what's the highest UIN to m2? .... is there anywhere I can check what the newest UIN is? (As soon as there are 800,000 subscribers, I get to M2! ;))
    • as far as i can tell, there isnt a way to search by uin, and believe me, i have looked. basically, ive been noting the uin's in posts lately, and doing the math for how many accounts away i am. i figured i could be lame and make an account or something to find out exactly how close i am.

how's this for a complaint for you. in the faq, it states that slashdot makes you wait up to a couple of months or so to get m2, but the faq was written in like 2000. now if their intent is to have regular slashdot users to m2 within a couple of months, then this 'oldest 90%' stuff has got to stop. ive had an account since febuary, and have been reading slashdot since like 1999. i think i made an account way back then, but i dont remember it. (didnt seem like a big deal, this slashdot thing) but once i got my net connection back, i re-made an account.

ahh well, in a couple of years, at the rate of account creation, you and i will look like old timers. "wow, you got a slashdot account below a million?!"
    • Who can M2? In order to be a metamoderator, your account has to be one of the oldest 90% of accounts on the system. This means that once you've created your account, you'll have to wait for anywhere from a few weeks to a month or two, depending on the rate at which new accounts are being created. so, your uin would have to be one of the oldest 90 % to get metamod... so there would have to be roughly, 667816.67 accounts. ( ill let you do the rounding:) maybe i'm wrong though, and please correct me, because math wasn't my best subject in school.
      • Math checks out... it used to be 75% though. That would put me until somebody registered accounts ~ 800,000. ;)
        • since i am a geek, and all my friends over the years have become painfully aware of this fact, they often get to hear me go on technology based rants... a few days ago i got really bored and started asking everybody i know that has a net connection to start creating slashdot accounts to help me out :)
