generic-man's Journal: Slashcode messed up

Earlier this year, I chose to change my displayed e-mail name to "[e-mail]", an alias which was very successful in trapping a lot of SirCam-related e-mail that I was getting. However, when SlashCode was "upgraded," I was surprised to see that "[e-mail]" is now my official e-mail address and "[e-mail]" is my displayed name. Needless to say, this is the exact opposite of what I wanted.

I submitted a bug on SourceForge. Any response? Not really. Jamie casually pointed out that this was done on purpose, and that I couldn't change my display name (except to something incomprehensible like "[e-mail]") without making a whole new account.

Saying that something was "done on purpose" doesn't justify a bug like this.
