JesseL's Journal: Damn Dell is fast

I saw the thing on the front page yesterday about the Dell Laptop battery recall. I checked out the Dell website and it turns out that my laptop was affected. I filled out their online form to get a replacement battery and they confirmed they would send me a new one within 20 days.

I just got it delivered to my desk! Less than 24 hours from me filling out the form. Impressive.

Most of those batts they are replacing are still good. Would be nice to get a huge box of them for alternative energy projects. I'd like to make an electric scooter/bicycle and a farm go-buggy, like a hybrid golf cart/tractor thing. I wonder if there is any way to test them and see which might fail, or have a higher probability?

But ya, that was a fast reply. The only thing I ever got like that was a couple of skil cordless drills, the charger got recalled, but seeing as how they don't make that exact charge

you run it and if it catches fire and explodes, well, you know you got a bad one! ;-)
