After all, it is just a number. And it's not like the person was the "one millionth customer" and will receive some prizes and a parade. I wonder if the person will actually even use it, or if he just wanted bragging rights about the number? Or did he just happ

I guess it's mostly because of all the connotations the word (and the number) has. For many people, million is a Very Large Number. A Million is a Lot. And it's also a nice round number. Round numbers are special, yet special in an easy-to-understand way. Unlike, say, primes. Or jokes about 42 being 6*9 in base 13.
While I did keep an eye on the uid-s, I never intended to even attempt to register it. In my

From the replies to that first post of the millionth user, (which is now sitting at -1 offtopic) it appears that "bastard", rather than "lucky" is the main operative word...
