Journal Chacham's Journal: Chronicle: (Office) Uninstalled Firefox, installed Mozilla. 17
After yesterday's exciting installation of Firefox, i uninstalled it today. I was a bit frustrated this morning when i realized it had automatically reordered my bookmarks. Alphabetical is nice, but not when i'm used to a different setup. Finally, the delay on loading many pages was really bothering me. I couldn't just middle-click on a bunch of links and read them all. I had to wait in between each click for them to load. Even IE is better than that (though it's a right-click "open in new window" thing).
So, i installed Mozilla itself. It's not as sleek, and it didn't import everything automagically, and it did reorder my bookmarks. Oh well, i reordered them back, deleted the extra bookmark folders, and renamed the undeletable folder to be one of the imported folders.
The directional arrows and URL line cannot be consolidated into the menubar line, oh well. But, no freezing when pages load. That seems to mean everything to me.
And the password level bar. Very nice. Like a non-beeping seatbelt warning. Informative without being annoying. I'll bet the developers don't vote Democrat.
And my find dialog is back. The find bar on the bottom is a cute idea, but it agitates me. Every single application i use has a popup find window, and kudos to Microsoft (in Office) for not making it modal. In Firefox having it there at the bottom requires me to remind myself where it is. It does have the advantage of being out of the way, and truthfully, it's like emacs (which i am used to) but something about it just didn't feel right. Either way, Mozilla's find fialog is a welcome sight.
So, i guess i don't like Firefox after all. I hope Thunderbird doesn't have these lockup issues.

2. No (obvious) option to open a bookmark of tabs by adding instead of replacing tabs.
3. No automatically opening a bookmark of tabs when browser opens.
4. Firefox's search do-hicky (already mentioned).
Other than that it is basically the same thing as mozilla suite. But some of the things that made using mozilla easy and fast (for use, not necessarily quick for loading pages) are missing.

I think i used that once, some time back, for opening mail and news. But, assuming this actually happened, i opted to opening a new window entirely instead.

Second. I have a bookmark for all my morning comic and a bookmark for my morning news and such. With mozilla, I'd hit both bookmarks then choose which I am going to look at first for the day. With firefox I have to do the news, then comics. Also, in windowmaker there isn't a nice bar at the bottem for selecting which b

IIRC, the google toolbar spies on other things as well.

In mozilla you can setup so when you type in the address/url bar if you down arrow it'll send you to your search engine of choice. Mine being google.

Your first word "it" is usually a reference to something earlier stated. Since, however, it is the first word stated, i guessed you meant a title, such as King's "It".

You can drag bookmarks around (in the menu or in the bookmarks manager) to put them in whatever order you want. (As for me, I almost never use bookmarks as they're tied to a machine. I keep them in an IMAP folder that I can use anywhere.)

That much i know. I just think the import itself would have been nicer had it left them in the pre-existing order.

What delay is that? Just a few minutes ago, I went down the list of new JEs and middle-clicked each of them. I'm now reading them in turn.
