Journal mdhoover's Journal: Cross-compiled Linux From Scratch 1.0.0 Released

Well after 2 odd years, several glibc/gcc/kernel version increments and much hackery and pain, we have released Cross-compiled Linux From Scratch v1.0.0 on an unsuspecting public

See http://trac.cross-lfs.org/wiki/news for the announcement

I sure hope the servers will survive the inevitable battering that is ahead ;-)

A huge round of kudos needs to go to Jim Gifford for turning the huge stinking pile of shell scripts I laid upon him into a very readable book form, without him this would never have happened (indeed the project would not exist if it weren't for Jim stepping up) and I am eternally grateful and will be forever in his debt for him pulling this off

Congrats and much thanks to all who have made this possible, and continued with the job seeing it through to the end while I have been sidelined by massive work responsibilities.

The honor role
Jim Gifford
Jeremy Utley
Joe Ciccone
Justin Knierim
Chris Staub
Matt Darcy
Ken Moffat
Manuel Canales Esparcia
Nathan Coulson

Missed from the release announcement was Alexander Patrakov, who has been sidelined himself... here's hoping he comes back to help us out with i18n support, he will be sorely needed
