blinder: (watching tv show on science channel) I can't imagine how a black hole can be so small and have so much mass.
dragon: good things come in little packages. Like dragons.
tv: There's this dark star,like a hungry dragon, it will grab you if you get too close but won't actively chase you, and it will utterly destroy you, it has big sharp teeth and a ravenous appetite and if you get too close it will tear you limb from limb...
dragon: (pointing to the tv) see? Let's get dinner!
blinder: meep!

It's midnight. We're tired. We stayed up late because we're stupid and forgot to turn off the firewall on the teamspeak server. So it's midnight and i'm almost asleep and blinder, who sleeps more soundly than marble, turns to me quite suddenly and asks me a sleepy question.
blinder: Would kangaroos like a swimming pool?
dragon: WHAT?
blinder: Kangaroos. You know. They hop around a lot.
dragon: Yes. Kangaroos. What are you asking me?
blinder: Do they swim? I mean, would they jump in a swimming pool?
dragon: They can probably swim. They probably wouldn't like the taste and smell of the chlorine.
blinder: Oh. Thanks.

blinder: (two minutes after the preceding conversation) What about platypuses?
dragon: They swim.
blinder: No, i mean, are there lots of kinds of platypuses?
dragon: Why don't we look it up in the morning, dear?
blinder: Oh, good idea. You have such good ideas. Thank you. (he resumes falling asleep)
dragon: damn. (stares at ceiling, trying not to wonder whether kangaroos can swim and if there are many types of platypus.) DAMN!!!!
By the way: Yes, and they can move their hopping legs independently for it, and no. Just the duckbilled, and it's not a beak, just a big flat nose like a mole's.
There was also a brief discussion between us about koalas as marsupials, and what a sick trick nature pulled making one of the cutest creatures so nearsighted and cranky.
dragons can relate.

(I now have access to more NASA/lunar module history and information than i could ever ask for, and he has suddenly acquired access to more religious history books than he will ever have time to read. If we decide to jointly start a moon landing cult, we'll have all the right source material on hand.)

As your shadow cabinet aerospace director I can unequivocally state that this will be doable once we take over in '08. In fact, I'd say we'll pretty much have a lock on the entire inner solar system by 2012 and once that FTL drive pans out... hey, pick a star, any star.
