  • Not when HTC's Wizard coupled with The Core Media Player for Windows Mobile does the same damned job just fine- with no stupid DRM hassles.
  • If so, I ditched my cellphone a few years back, because it was bugging me too much and costing too much.

I'm waiting until we get integrated cellphone, video camera, music, etc and it's dirt cheap and service is dirt cheap - tech like in Japan now and service like in most EU countries now.

I figure that maybe the iPhone thing is the precursor of this, and maybe when I get HDTV in 2009 (seriously, when a 50 inch flat HDTV 1080p costs less than $500 for a reputable brand) then it will be time to get a cellphone
  • That's pretty spectacular. The interface looks great, although I've only seen stills so far. All I want is a basic GSM phone with a calendar, but I'm pretty sure my SO will be all over this thing since she's looking for a PDA-phone anyway. Bummer that it won't be available until June, though.

  • Actually, as you've probably already heard by now, they can't call it iPhone, because that's already taken [iphone.com] (link will probably timeout). Perhaps they could all it uPhone? Oh. [uphone.org] Maybe ePhone? Maybe not [comwave.net]. jPhone? Nope. [3g-generation.com] Surely kPhone is OK? Surely not [wirlab.net]. Even Macphone [macphone.com] seems to be taken. What a marketing headache.
  • It's a cute little OS X device in your pocket, but there's a lot of limitations, too.

I can't justify the price and the new contract, especially as I want to leave Cingular. But it's pretty.

If all else fails, lower your standards.
