Journal TopShelf's Journal: Gimme mo mod points 5

You'd think with all this exercising (mostly involving lifting Red Foreman's karma out of the gutter) I'd be making quicker progress on the weight front, but the going is slow. Of course, it didn't help that I got access to a suite for Tuesday's Ducks/Predators game in Nashville. Open access to wings, hot dogs, popcorn & chips was just too big an indulgence to pass up, plus I missed a workout that would normally occur that night.

I made up for it this morning though, heading in to the Y before work. It's definitely been harder getting focus back after the holidays than I thought, however. Down 1 more pound this week, still a couple away from my peak low right before Christmas...

    I figured it would be easier for me to keep the weight off I lost during my forced starvation diet than to lose it again later.

      For me, the key to avoid snacking at work it to drink lots of water. By having a cup of water within arm's reach, it's much easier to go between meals without the pretzels, chips, etc. That's easily the biggest factor in my dropping 20+ pounds over the last few months.

        Yeah, I have been drinking more water and waaaay less soda (1 or at most 2 per day). Snackwise I am trying to stick with either fruit or things like jerky or trailmix (though the trailmix has a fair number of calories, it beats a candybar). If I can haul my butt in to start exercising (next paycheck :-D) I should be good.
