  • Um, until two minutes ago, I thought that Twitter was some guy on Slashdot. Silly me.

    After looking at the site, a question keeps coming up:

    What's the point?

    I mean, really. Every post up there should read "Right now, I'm typing stuff to post on a website that neither me nor anybody else with a life will bother following." It's just that everybody keeps mistyping it, so that a lot of incomprehensible half-phrases get posted.

    Maybe I'm too old a fart to understand that site. Anybody enlighten me, please?

      There is no point. It's utterly useless. It's like instant messaging, only not very instant, and highly limited.

      BUT, it's becoming freakishly popular. I used to think MySpace was utterly useless, and we all saw how that worked out.

        If this is the direction the web is heading, we'll AGAIN see some years of utter BS, followed by a sudden and painful crash. Seems as if we should all look for a bandwagon to hop on to at least collect some cash from THIS bubble.

        My vision goes something like this: Put up a site where people can post small blurbs of text and possibly links, give it a nice logo and make it Web 2.0. In this context, Web 2.0 means real-t
      • And like MySpace, I'll hold off joining until I find a way to use it to get me laid. (Yes, MySpace has gotten me laid... looked up an ex-gf and sent her a message... giggity giggity.)

For God's sake, stop researching for a while and begin to think!
