Journal ericrost's Journal: Just had to vent about HP's BS! 4

Ok, here's the email I got after asking if HP would fix the well known problems with their BIOS on the Pavilion dv9000 series of laptops like they did on the dv6000 series:

HP Chat Support Experience Follow-up (KMM16293709V71550L0KM)

Dear Eric,

NOTE: Please do not reply this email .

This is Veronica, from HP Total Care. This email acknowledges your
recent chat support experience. Unfortunately, we have been unable to
communicate with you as we would have liked. We apologize for the
inconvenience caused.

I would like to inform you that the BIOS update is provided depending
upon the operating system installed on the notebook. As HP supports and
recommends Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Vista on its notebooks, we
will not be able to provide you correct BIOS update for the Linux
operating system.
Thus, I suggest you please contact the support for Linus OS , so that
they will be able to provide you the correct BIOS update that is
compatible for your OS.

We are committed to helping you with any questions about your HP
Pavilion Notebook. We encourage you to visit the following Web site to
initiate another chat session with one of our support specialist:

We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to serve you.

Regards,

Veronica,
HP Total Care.

Now, may I just close by saying what a complete and utter load of horse shit. There is ABSOLUTELY nothing OS dependent in a correctly implemented BIOS........

HP Sucks... I will never buy another product from them as long as this is the attitude they give their users who don't subscribe to the Microsoft lockin.

If anyone is a lawyer, isn't this the crap that M$ got their asses sued for a few years back?

I'm buying hardware from them and expecting that they will fix problems with their hardware.... /rant

Any circuit design must contain at least one part which is obsolete, two parts which are unobtainable, and three parts which are still under development.
