Engadget is has a write up on Teltonika's USB modem that is sim ready and works In OSX.http://www.engadget.com/2007/05/11/teltonikas-hsdpa-usb-modem-accepts-sim-cards-and-os-x

Teltonika's HSDPA USB modem just so happens to provide such a luxury, as the versatile device supports speeds up to 1.8Mbps via GPRS / EDGE / HSDPA, is entirely USB powered, and provides the ability to "text from your PC" and use VoIP.

Unfortunately this item is only available in Europe ate present, I'll be watching this for US distribution..... :-)
