One can make a theological argument that all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
However, as a legal/political matter, you're guilty of only what you've done, per a proper proceeding (not necessarily our decayed modern system).

We already know it doesn't, that at some point people will make up stuff just to get it to stop, and that acting on that "information" doesn't end well.
Just like we know that breaking people in the crusades to get them to profess belief in god before dying from their torture to "save their soul" appears insane today (and that's being charitable), even though the torturers may have believed 100% that it was the will of god that they help their victims avoid eternal damnation.
