trolltalk.com's Journal: Drupal gets the seal of disapproval

Drupal - another POS of a CMS.

Too many issues to even bother starting with, but lets just say that administration is counter-intuitive.

What do you recommend?

I'm actually looking into putting together a CMS for the local Humane Society. I'm currently messing around with Nucleus (because I don't need lots of bells and whistles), but my main concerns are stability and ease of backup/recovery. Any tips?

It depends on what features you need. Is this a public-facing CMS, or internal?

I'm putting a bit of my (small) available spare time into writing one that serves content as xml/css via xmlhttp requests. I've got the login/logout portion working this weekend, but I want to add a second layer of persistence. The ability to send the xml and css, and update just a portion of the page, is complete.

Thanks for the tip, I'll give postnuke a try and see if I like it. Kudos on coming up with your own, it's a crowded field out there and it sounds like you'd want to share it out as opposed to coding something up for yourself.

I'm having fun with it - just can't find much spare time to work on it.

postnuke has some weirdness, like all of them, but its not that bad.
