Talk about a case for deleting comments. This guy has got problems. Load it quick before the men in suits come.

What I find incredibly sad is that speech without action has been banned, and we're all afraid to say anything about a comment, for fear that the men in black (with black sedans, naturally) will come in the dead of night.. Welcome to Amerikkka, Comrades. Show us your papers.
Oh, and if you think that you're safe because you roll over, then it is just a matter of time before they come get you. Remember, in Cambodia when the thugs took over, anyone with any hint of education or intelligence (Do you wear glasses? Do you read, Comrade?) was rounded up for their very own dirt nap.
The point of "free speech" is to protect speech that you find objectionable, since you probably won't ban speech that you find acceptable.

Perhaps we should outlaw any criticism of the President, because that's just one step away from threatening him. Maybe we should include the Judicial branch, too. After that, the Legislature. Hell, make talking about the entire government illegal.
    Then this will be a paradise, and a beacon of hope and freedom to the unwashed foreigners "who hate us because we love freedom" (Shrub).

        I'm a bit put off by the entire double standard. There is no special law protecting the old lady down the street from these kind of threats. For that matter there is no law protecting Congressmen or Judges from this either. If this is the sort of speech that really doesn't deserve the protections of the 1st ammendment, then it shouldn't be limited to threats against the President alone.
        
        Because of the special limited status of the law, the secret service is allowed to abuse the definition with no real repurcussions. They go after statements that are certainly not direct threats all of the time. Discussion (without any statements of malice whatsoever) of how easy it would be to kill the President has been enough to draw the unwanted attention of the Secret Service down on people before.
