Good news. Yesterday, I noticed that the Vista Failure Log registered in the top ten Google search results for "Vista Failure", beating out 3,500,000 or so other hits. People are reading and linking to it.

It even shows up in Microsoft's irrelevant search. If you search, "vista failure slashdot" you get it in the text for the first result, which has this beauty. Thanks Microsoft!

What's the point of being a paranoid narcissist if you can't reach the widest possible audience of people who are out to get you?

Maybe it's because there's not a lot of people saying that Vista is a failure (because it's not) and you link that blog entry with this and your sockpuppet account at every possible opportunity?

You do know that's how Google ranks are calculated, not on actual relevance? No? Sorry to burst your bubble, then.

Nope, people like it. Re:Or, maybe... (1)

Old Troll Macthorpe [slashdot.org] dreams of Vista success:

Google "Vista Failure Log" for yourself and see. Right now it pulls up 363 hits, mostly from blogspot, gamespot and other places that are not slashdot. There are a number of foreign language hits too. Looks like people all over the world are interested.

Rest assured, I'll keep adding to the list. Not a day goes by that someone else does not give up on Vista and ask themselves why they put up with non free software. Enjoy!

Well, if we're going to have stupid Google wars:

Vista Failure Log - 2,020,000 hits
Linux Failure Log - 2,110,000 hits

Maybe now you'll realise that I meant it when I said that the way Google calculates relevancy is, well, irrelevant to the debate?

The first hits are from the register, which is a useless tabloid. The next is an anemic Digg story with some good comments to the contrary. And your JE's first comment marks you as the psychotic zealot you are, complete with your "where's the monitor ali-baba" epic post front and center. You call that a victory? I'd be ashamed.

426 links and counting. A search for "vista failure log" [google.com] now shows 426 links from other bloggers. I'm proud to have created a useful resource which in some small way counters the billion dollar a month M$ advertising budget.

I'm tired of the M$ monopoly treadmill and it looks like I'm not the only one. No one wants the next generation of secret and patent protected file formats. No one wants the next generation of built in spyware, draconian restrictions and other annoyances that require all new hardware and software but provide very little users actually want. For all the name calling and abuse, people really do want software freedom. Vista cuts so hard against freedom that it's a dismal failure.

Small efforts from many people will bring M$ down. Good riddance.

Good job troll boy. The comedy of your weird ideas is only surpassed by the hilarious way in which you deliver them.

Nope, there are about 36 hits. The vast majority of which are useless social pinging sites that echoed the original Brasilian blogger (in Portugese, for great justice). You just didn't bother paging through the Google results.

The rest are self-referential Slashdot links - one with your sockpuppet and the other a page that lists all the /. stories tagged with "twitter", which is just too funny.

It's OK if you don't reply to this, I know you're at -100 karma or something like that. So don't worry about it.

Ha, ha, ha ha, ha, you are a loser. (0)

My biggest fan, dedazo, taunts:

Actually, I'm having a great time reading through the results. There are bloggers from all over and very few self-referential slashdot links. The Brazilian site is nice to see too, but really there's no hiding the flop Vista is.

Thanks for the modbomb, asshat, but it's obvious that it has not worked. Non free software is over and you will soon be looking for another job. No amount of flakery will fix Vista. I'm glad that my log and stories have helped cement the consensus of opinion about Vista.

The world deserves better than Vista, it deserves freedom.
