Whenever the question of whether Linux is ready for the desktop comes up, I've regularly cited Linux's hard-to-find drivers and codecs as the thing that gave Windows the edge. But I had an adventure in upgrading that's ended that criticism.

And then there is Vista

Every time I hear someone complain that xyz isn't supported under Vista I think, gee, how soon people forget that they hated that exact same thing about Linux....and yet I would bet money that right now, Linux has more driver support than Vista does!

Not too long ago I switched from Fedora to Ubuntu, and have been 100% pleased. Everything just works, including printers, wireless cards, etc. Even my Wacom tablet is happy, right out the gate. Sweet.
