The Highest Honorary Award in India, the Bharat Ratna has not been awarded to a person since 7 years. This year, there had been a great political and media debate over who deserves to be awarded the Bharat Ratna resulting in another year with no award. The Complete List of awardees points to the fact that Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation has not yet received it, even though the award can be given posthumously.
