Journal Jucius Maximus's Journal: One Metamoderation? 7

Has anyone else had a situation where they got some other number of moderations to metamoderate than 10? Just today, it gave me exactly one! I took a screenshot too if you're interested, although this would technically be very easy to fake.

One Metamoderation?

  • I've gotten as little as four before.
  • Maybe the Editors have started the celebrations early. :)
  • I just got a one entry metamoderation too. I think something is buggy at /.
  • The reason for this seems to be that everyone has caught on that overrated/underrated doesn't get metamoderate. I've been checking the moderations over the last few days, and a disportionate amount of moderation is being done with those instead of the real moderations.

As a result, although the same amount of moderations are being done, the metamoderation queue is being starved. It's a shame.

Interesting ... so it chooses 10 and then throws out all the under/overrated ones (or so you hypothesise.) I wonder why those ones can't be meta-moderated in the first place.

Rob mentioned it before. He didn't metamoderate them because he thought that they would be used to adjust previous moderations that were too large. So, really, they can't be wrong. I guess. Like if a comment was a 4, but you thought it should be only a 3, even though it was still insightful. So your option is troll, or overrated.

Rob didn't want to meta-moderate the overrated because there's no indication in metamoderation what the score was. Something might be unfair at 5, but not at 3.

It's all abstract anyways. If I got an overrated in M2, I'd always mark it as unfair.

  • I've been getting "No comments available for meta moderation!" all day.-(
