Journal Nymz's Journal: Barack Obama Q&A with Sarah Palin 7
McCain and Biden have both been around a long time, and are known factors, and thus boring. So after watching too many speeches that were so vague that either side could have read them, I decided a Q&A between Obama and Palin could be very interesting.
Obama: What did you think of my acceptance speech, where I spoke of my vision for America based on my "belief that I am my brother's keeper"? (1)
Palin: I can't say that appeals to me, thinking of Americans living in 2 by 3 meter shacks, and living off only a dollar a day.
Palin: You are only 40 something, and the Junior Senator of Illinois, do you really think you have the experience to be President?
Obama: You too are only 40 something, and the Governor of Alaska, but do you really think a woman should even be considered for vice-president? (2)
Obama: I heard you're a NRA member, could you show me how to load a gun? Just kidding, I don't believe in the 2cd Amendment.
Palin: I read your voting record, could you tell me how you could possibly support infanticide? Just kidding, I couldn't even consider feticide. (3)
(1) Yes, Obama actually used that metaphor in his nomination acceptance speech, August 28th 2008.
(2) Obama didn't even have the courtesy to vet Hillary Clinton as a possible vice-president, ouch.
(3) Palin's 5th child, in the womb, was diagnosed with Downs Syndrome, but she kept him anyway.

I still don't understand all these references to Obama not picking Hillary as his VP. Nobody, with the possible exception of a few deluded right-wing radio hosts, thought he was going to pick her. Boggles my mind how the media and others love to play stupid when it suits them.

Think back further, you are talking about a VP slot, when most people assumed she would get the P slot. And many had thoughts of Hillary, with Barack as VP, to be a dream team. A good reason, for Barack to have vetted her, would be so he wouldn't offend her supporters. Assuming they would have nowhere to go, instead of abstaining or McCaining, is really egotistical.

Possibly, but since you made no analysis of the negatives of picking Hillz as VP, it's inconsequential to the argument. Also, egotistical? you do know these people are running for one of the most powerful jobs in the world, right?

Hmm, are you referring to practical negatives, like personality types not being able to work together? I honestly hadn't thought of that, there is so much focus on what it will take to get elected, that I forgot about actually doing the job after the election. I'm going to blame the ever-year-it-starts-earlier election process for my narrow vision. ;-)

Hell no I'm not! This is election season, practicality has nothing to do with it. Hence Biden and Palin. Neither has any particular merits as to sound policy or good governance, it's all media ju-jitsu.
