I would like to write a Harry Potter MUD. I have played many MUDs, and Coded in Perl/CGI/C++ on and off for a few years. I feel that a Harry Potter based MUD would be a fun and exciting one. There are problems of course, but nothing that's too big to overcome, except perhaps IP issues- but I have never seen a MUD have a problem with that.

  • Isn't it a sign of the times that the first obsticale you thought of when you set out to make a Harry Potter MUD was being sued.

    Watch yourself they even sued the girl who registered harrypotter.co.uk.

      That's true, but how many Tolkien, or Robert Jordon MUDs have been sued? I can't think of any, and there's tons of Anime based ones...

      That's true however, the Brits don't mind sueing just as much as any lawyer in NYC with a trick neck.

      Hopefully I won't get sued too badly. Better incorporate, so I can pay myself, but not lose everything.
      Then again I don't have anything worth losing.
