Journal frankie's Journal: WTF? Big Brother is advertising on Google? 3

While reading a membership reminder email from EFF, which included a paragraph about their fight against warrantless wiretaps, I glanced up and noticed a truly bizarre advert:

Internet Wiretap - www.ipfabrics.com - Internet and VoIP intercept with IP Fabrics DeepSweep.

Why in the world does this company think that a general audience web advert is be a good way to reach their target market? Should I laugh, or shudder?

WTF? Big Brother is advertising on Google?

  • Which I imagine is by far a much bigger market than we realize- and is certainly a much larger market than "Big Brother" or "Big Mother". "Big Father", Wall Street, probably has a budget 10:1 over that of any government.

I can't deny that as networks becomes more pervasive, the lines between IT and the military industrial complex become ever blurrier.

      • Oh, it's far worse than that. The military-industrial complex is only about a $4 trillion/year industry. The global credit derivatives industry is $681 trillion alone.

Right now, banks don't know how to value that, because they're keeping secret information about the underlying assets from one another- a HUGE opportunity for industrial espionage.
