Journal FroMan's Journal: God's Blessings 8

Well, the Mrs and I are batting .667*. Our second child is on the way and hopefully to arrive in July, Lord willing. Morning sickness has been much worse this time around (which all the old wives around tell us means it is going to be a girl). We have are really hoping for a girl, but we'll take what comes our way.

The little guy still is having speech issues and understanding speech, so we have had a hard time communicating that he is going to have a sibling in a few months. He has been in a group for children with speech issues since the beginning of the year, but in such short time we have not seen much success. He otherwise seems very intelligent and able to manipulate his surroundings, but speech still eludes him quite a bit.

* 3 months of trying, 2 pregnancies

  • Awesome news, dude!

    We aren't even trying for a sibling for Gunnerella yet. Maybe in a few months...

      All the cool people are doing it.

      I must confess though, my wife is actually carrying Sarah Palin's baby.

  • Don't believe the wives tales, though. The morning sickness was worse the second time around for my wife as well, and everyone said the same thing... "it's gotta be a girl". Well, he's very much all-boy, especially when it comes to breaking stuff...

    As far as the speech problems of your oldest... is he prone to ear infections? Our youngest is slightly behind the average in terms of speech, and we discovered that his frequent ear infections had caused his eardrum to swell, making it harder to hear (and thus r

      Thank you. And I do not put any stock in the old wives tales either, in fact I rather dislike the speculation.

      As for the ear thing I have had them checked. My ear tubes don't drain properly, and as a child my folks didn't realize this for a long time. While I didn't have ear infections at all, they seemed to think I was deaf for the longest time. I didn't start talking until I was four, but I was able to catch up. Because of that every time we head into the doctor for him I've had them check him out.

  • I still haven't made my way out there since your first was born. Hell, with gas prices now, I can afford to. :-)

  • My wife had worse morning sickness with her second pregnancy than with her first. It turned out to be twins....

      She has already had an ultrasound, so no twins. A few more weeks until the 20 week ultrasound, we might know then.

Suggest you just sit there and wait till life gets easier.
