New freshmeat.net layout

The new freshmeat.net layout completely sucks. The grays are harder to read on a large screen compared to the old format, and impossible to read on a small screen. The color scheme of the previous iteration also made it easy to scan today's updates quickly. When scrolling, the grays just blend together and slow me down.

Words with the letters 'd' and 'e' run together, and either missing or all-black anti-aliasing pixels -- looks like ass.

I don't understand the narrow layout idea (1)

If I wanted my pages in a narrow layout, I'd resize the window. Instead, some developer made an arbitrary decision to limit the amount of stuff that fits on one screen, because they want me SCROLL FOR IT. Ass.
