Journal pmarini's Journal: Silent censoring by Slashdot 3

In the last few days, I've been posting a number of replies to articles but apparently Slashdot has decided that they are not worth displaying because when I go back and reload the page they are not there anymore, even after giving it some time in case there is an automatic moderation overlord that might need some time to "approve" them...
Anyone care to comment or explain?

Silent censoring by Slashdot

Comments Filter:
  • You need to change your reading threshold in prefs. Your karma means that most of your posts are scored 1, and you probably have your view settings floored at 2, so you can't see your own posts.
    • by Qzukk ( 229616 )

Yep. All but one of his posts are at Score: 1 [slashdot.org].

Either be more interesting or insightful (or at least funny), or lower your threshold (or click those "x replies hidden" links)

If you've lowered the threshold already, keep in mind that the New Slashdot might not be showing all of the replies at once, you might need to hit the "More" link to fetch more replies.

  • I agree with the other two replies. Also, be sure your comment was accepted. More than once I've submitted a comment and closed the tab too fast. Then when it doesn't show up I used the "unclose tab" feature to discover my post was rejected with "whoa, slow down cowboy" or some such.

I also believe there's an option to assign +n to "own posts".
