Does anyone know where/how to find this information? I e-mailed help one time and got a response, but I don't think they understood what I was asking, as they simply directed me to the user comment page.

Too bad it's broken. I'm quite sure I had broken 10,000 comments about two years ago, but it claims I only have 9029 at the moment.

Did the same to me... as I approached 10,000, a thousand or so magically disappeared from the tally. I have no idea if the comments disappeared too, or just some of their math.
Wish they'd stop fucking with things regardless...

I do disagree with some of the changes in the beta index, do they still have total comments on an article not showing? That's what made me go back to the default.. :)
Got to say it's faster as well without all the extra bloat, guess I'll just be sticking to the norm and hoping the changes don't get put into my favourite slashdot
