Journal nacturation's Journal: Mod points 3
So after lurking on the site a while, I kicked off my Slashdot account with this post. Just over six years later, I get mod points for the first time today. What's up with that?

...are inscrutable, to say the least. I went four years without them, but lately I have been getting one or two batches of fifteen every week. The set that were due to expire tomorrow was only five, though.
I spent a lot of time trying to figure out the why of the drought, but never did. There are people that believe in secret blacklists, but that seems silly. Much more likely to be buggy code. :-)

Years ago there was talk that if you had participated in a thread that had been mod bombed (I forget the correct term) by an admin, that your account got flagged somehow. But yeah, buggy code is just as likely!
