I'm not a pilot IRL, but I do hack on FlightGear from time to time, and I'm totally fascinated by aviation.

This is one of the things that keeps me on slashdot. For every story, there's a good chance that someone with relevant experience will comment.

I sometimes think I picked the wrong career - I love mathematics, computers, physics, etc... But I still find certain aspects of flying amazing, and I like explaining things when I can. Your comments were quite cool as well - well thought out, polite, funny... We could use a few more folks like that in the world. Cheers!
