Well, I think my trolling of railgunner worked! My heart soars like a hawk.

And then some AC took the time to imply RG is a subtle wit. Wow! What a bonus. Not only does AC not get it at all, she took the time to check the box to post anonymously. Sweet.

Life is good.

Now if only RG and/or cgn and/or r4m will post here. Anonymously, of course. That would wrap it up with a bow on top!

Oh, and if the programmers like cgn would change the perl on "slash code" specifying time limits on using resources, instead of working to make the slashdot user experience better, my faith in the reality of libertarians would be bolstered.

Just saying.

    Yes, I'm a geezer who uses Notepad and the like as an HTML editor. I wish the guys coding this site would.

      But I like to post plain text, not HTML.

      If someone wants to see the links I provide, they are welcome to cut and paste them.

      And, actually, I know pretty well how to use the primitive HTML that is allowed in my postings here at slashdot. In fact, in years gone by, I have made many hundreds of dollars writing such primitive HTML, including anchors. Using editors such as BBEdit, NotePad, and such. Hey, do you remember TECO? Now there was a man's editor.

        I post in plain text, too -- it cuts down on typing all those <P>s and <BR>s. Yhe comment I posted was plain text. But the tags all work in plain text.

          Agreed. I could have said, I only post tags when I want to, and I could have avoided the term "plain text", which on slashdot, has a special hidden meaning.

          I don't particularly like posting anchor tabs.

          • See; that wasn't my fault, it was the fault of the spell checker that couldn't distinguish the grammatical context for which the word "silicone" would be inappropriate. Based on my own experiences with the word and with the tools to display the word, my brain did nothing wrong. But I'm sure some people will blame my ignorance on the public educational system that deprived me of being able to distinguish the difference between "silicon" and "silicone" and use them in their correct contexts.

              I hope you comprehend the difference now. If not, I expect you to go out and get some field experience and report back as soon as possible.

              I truly am sad about the decline of home experimentation in home electronics (silicon) and chemistry (silicone) these days. I just wish I could count on Radio Shack for both, as posted previously...

                Just to set the record straight, I received all of my pre-college education in public school (not home school). Actually my father only made it to grade 2 before he became a full time farm laborer so my parents wouldn't be ideal for something like home schooling. I also have many years of public university and private college experience. I do often post about autodidactism because I have found that (through way too much experience) that the most effective way of learning is not relying on somebody else to t
