I've returned to occasional/. use due to no longer working from home, and dang my user ID is low compared to a lot of the account comments I'm seeing. Did/. experience a mass exit recently and are only newbies and fresh troll accounts posting?

You've had that account for quite a while by the standards of any web site I visit regularly. There is always churn and I'm sure being away for a bit makes it really noticeable. Sort of like facial hair and sleep.
Me, I've got a uid that's over 200k higher than yours and I've been here for at least 8 years. But I think it's closer to 9 or 10. Just not sure but my first JE was 8 years ago.
It would be cool if the date the account was created was a part of the profile. I wonder if that's part of the record.
I probably started towards the end of '99 and that would have been my account I lost. Not sure when I created this one, but not too long after I don't think.
Just joking. Welcome back. And you're only as old as you feel.
After all, look how long Anonymous Coward has been posting.
All joking aside, the overall population is aging, so your relative age isn't as big a diff as it was when you were a kid. To counter that, there's so much MORE knowledge to get a handle on that the newer generation takes longer to "catch up".
And of course, when they're listening to music and you start humming along with it, and they say "You know THIS song?" and you say "Knoew it? I GREW UP with it!"... and they refuse to believe it...
Depending on your mindset, that can make you feel either really old, or like almost no time has passed.

I was trying to figure out how long I've had this account, and my best guess is probably 1997 due to college. Yikes.
And I see UIDs in the 1.7m wow.

Just for grins, did you know what Anonymous Coward’s UID is?
