Journal anti-pop-frustration's Journal: Republicans 2

by Doc Ruby (173196):

Except the facts show that Republicans, by a significant majority, want the country ruled by religious laws. Here's just a sample of their positions on issues ruled by what they think their bible says, rather than the Constitution:

But I wasn't even talking about Republican Party members, but Republican officials. If you read the many supporting pages to which I linked about "American Taliban", you'll see that those officials are theocrats.

False equivalence. There is nothing actually "Communist" about Democrats, nothing anywhere near as severe as the truth about the Republican Party and its actions. "They're both as bad" is a lazy judgment, when the facts show the difference between "bad" and "intolerable".

  • So when they win, nobody can come to me about it. You're working under the assumption the democrats and republicans actually oppose each other. Here's [salon.com] just a tiny example of how the game is played. It also works perfectly well across party lines. It assures that a democrat or a republican will win the white house. "Bad" and "intolerable" have a common goal, differing only slightly on methods. I really don't care if the jack booted thug wears a robe or wears Armani. I can appeal to either authority and live

    • As far as polls go, congressional approval ratings are at 25%, yet 95% or more are reelected as reliably as the sunrise. Shows you what the polls are worth.

There is a simple explanation for this, and it doesn't even require statistics.

The truth of the matter is that most of the sheeple in the voting public feel that their congressperson is awesome. Futhermore they feel that all the others in congress suck. Hence if the question was "do you approve of your congressman", the results would be better than 80% yes. However the question asked is "do you like congress", where most people say no.
