Journal snowgirl's Journal: to Bill Dog RE: authoritarianism 9

I agree that we've pretty much both said a good amount for our piece each. I appreciate the civil discourse, and the insight you offer me into your frame of mind. I wouldn't call it alien, and I understand the desires and hopes that you wish to accomplish, just have different weights on what matters. :)

So, to sum up, "Thanks"

  • Actually, I really need to try to keep this in mind: there are more well meaning, good people on 'the other side' than there are evil bastards. And there are a LOT more of them here at Slashdot.

Our methods may be different, our philosophies may be different, but our goals are generally the same: increasing human freedom and reducing human suffering. I will really, really try to keep that in mind the next time I'm infuriated by differences in methods and philosophy.

    • All true, but I still can't get past the fact that he's thick as pig shit.

The pudges of the world are far louder than the BillDogs.

Heck, the latter was getting awful close to banination by the former just a few weeks ago.

Seriously? Does pudge even have that power? Sounds like the kind of reception I get at places like daily kos when I try to say things that go against the group think there. Right or left, most people don't want debate. Debate means uncertainty. Most people want comfortable certainty, and actually dislike thinking for themselves. I have a theory that evolution gives most people a bias towards doing what has worked in the past rather than trying new things and thinking new thoughts.

Just banination from pudge's circle jerk, not the entire site.

I used to be pretty active on dKos. Then I found out how much they love attorneys and bend over backwards to justify their deviant behaviour. I don't post or even read there any longer.
