Global warming downmods

What I love the most about the rabble on Slashdot is every time there's a story about global warming, and you try to reply from the viewpoint of peer-reviewed Science, you get all the lusers downmodding you for factual statements.

Same for autism not being caused by vaccines.

Which I find very funny, because my lab literally works on autism research and quite a few friends work with core samples of ice.

Le sigh. Noobs are a precious resource - and there are so many of them.

P.S.: Science just Is.

Not only science (the profession) but also Science (the journal). You've probably seen this one before - a conservative anti-science pamphlet [photobucket.com] - someone has left it outside the lab I work in late at night more than once in the past. Notice that they specifically mention the AAAS, who are of course the group behind the journal Science.

Basically, they are so eager to try to counter anything associated with the journal, that if a paper came out in there this week suggesting gravity pulls objects towards earth, the conservatives would jump up and down to try to demonstrate the contrary (of course they would claim to be actually jumping down, otherwise they'd have to concede to gravitation).

I burn those when I find them and use them to cook Smores.

Need something for when I go hiking ...

"Data" are just a way to obfuscate the anecdotal.

I never confuse them. Thatcher's cock was bigger than Reagan's.

Reagan had Alzheimer's during - not after - his Presidency.

That's one difference.

He probably had it before... He was very ill. It's just more testimony of his professionalism. He rarely flubbed his lines... His writers were the best ever. And I don't believe he ever tripped [oddee.com] in front of the camera

What does a word processor have that Reagan doesn't(didn't)?

A memory and a colon..

The fun part is today I got 5 mod points (1)

WillAffleckUW (858324) | more than 3 years ago | (#34960468)

And I used them to mod the Pirated Microsoft thread.

Got Global Warming? Blame China.
