Journal smooth wombat's Journal: /. is once again screwed up 4

Ok, so the title isn't telling you anything you didn't already know. However, this is a somewhat critical issue for those of us who get mod points.

Apparently, even though I have set my threshold to -1, I don't see anything below 1.

Having searched through all the nooks and crannies of the craptacular 2.0 (or is it 3.0 now?) version, there are no other settings to set to see low posters.

Normally this wouldn't be an issue as most people at 0 or -1 are just trolling, but on occasion there is that one comment which is unfairly knocked and I like to upgrade them.

Yeah, I COULD send an email and ask that this be looked into, but what are the chances that this would be given a high priority when one considers how much they listened to people about the new design.

So for now, those of you who get a 0 or -1 mod, sorry, I can't help you.

  • Then hit the left bracket key until both sliders more all the way to the right.

    • Holy. Fucking. Hell. Trying to reply to you is like trying to do a self-root canal.

I keep javascript turned off which means I couldn't get a reply box. So I turn on javascript and see the slider which is already to the far right (-1). Keybindings are turned on (now) but since I keep javascript off, that's probably what's causing the problems.

It was working up until maybe Monday (last time I had points) but not today.

Well, just another example of why trying to be edgy and web 2.0ey is just a shitty propos

      • You can also opt out of the craptacularity that is D2 in your preferences. That works for me. I even just checked a thread and found the -1 Troll comment. Just remember you have to opt out in both places. (It might even be 3.) but if you say you're cool with D2 anywhere, it will trump your other settings. Good luck!

BTW what is this "mod points" of which you speak? :-)

Yeah, it probably happened when they fixed the access to nested comments. If you remember those old cartoons where you close one dresser drawer and another one pops open, that would be Slashdot at this moment.

You're not a real slashdotter until you've built your own stylesheet.
