men who drive pickup trucks insist on backing them into parking spaces? What is the point?
The bigger the pickup, the more likely it will be backed into a parking space.
If it has a trailer hitch, it will be backed up so the hitch hangs over a sidewalk, just waiting to knee-cap someone walking by.

Easier to pull out without hitting someone

That same trailer hitch can be quite a liability if you're operating the vehicle. However, if you do trip over it, with a good personal injury attorney, you might be able to collect a small sum, and maybe have him fined for obstructing the sidewalk.. Happy hunting
