The Matrix 9

Don't look now, but the "jobs speech" everyone from Krugman to Brooks is swooning over at The New York Pravda basically starts the Social Security defunding by cutting the payroll taxes paying for it.

Don't look now, but the "jobs speech" everyone from Krugman to Brooks is swooning over at The New York Pravda basically starts the Social Security defunding by cutting the payroll taxes paying for it.

...The centerpiece of the bill, known as the American Jobs Act, is an extension and expansion of the cut in payroll taxes, worth $240 billion, under which the tax paid by employees would be cut in half through 2012...

So the jobs bill depends on the confidence fairy to make industry create jobs with all that extra money they would have put into Social Security.

The pseudo-stimulus is just a pink ribbon on the pony.

And who cares who gets sloppy seconds?

Krugman's not "swooning" over it (0)

He's saying he's pleasantly surprised that Obama is spending more than was first rumored. But this "stimulus" certainly isn't in line with the numbers he's been consistently arguing for for the last few years.

And he's "spending" into crony bubbles and banksters, while cutting not INCOME TAXES of the wealthiest, but PAYROLL TAXES that fund social security - so, you know. The float will "trickle down" as it goes into new hires. Right.

Social Security is done for, no matter what. Not because there's anything wrong with the program or any nonsense about it being "broke" but because there is no way the oligarchs are going to allow such a huge flow of money that does not pass through the hands of the "banksters".

I kind of dislike that term "bankster". It sounds too much like gangster and although gangsters were also criminals, they were small time. Even the biggest mob boss was puny compared to they guys who are running the big banks. And the worst mob boss was nowhere near as evil. There needs to be a better term for the criminal masters who run the banks and wall street. Something that has more of an indication of crimes against humanity. Something that puts them in the same category as the worst of worst.

I don't fucking care if some old people that I don't know live in stinking poverty. At least I will be able to get some cheap labor, even if it's creaky, when I'm spending my fortune.

I've lined my nest, now fuck the rest.

I give up trying to save the world. My fellow Americans obviously don't want what's due them, and they're too stupid to deserve it. I'm just going to join the dark side, vote for Rick Perry, and not bother to think of them any more.

Unless you are part of the ownership class in a very big way, you are likely to lose just as much by the end of Social Security and Medicare as everyone else. Even if you are a young, prosperous person, if you are working for a living, you are probably going to see your income and lifestyle drop thanks to the "supply side", pro-corporate agenda that Rick Perry represents.

Understand, he wants you to make less and to have less. Go read the stories about the big secret Koch Brothers retreat that's been recently broken by BradBlog and Mother Jones (including audio tape of what was said there by people from Mr Perry to Chris Christie and just about every other big name Republican).

When someone has declared war on everyone, it's bound to include you, too.

I am the ownership class.

People think that a troll on Slashdot can't own a yacht and several houses. Why should I care if anyone believes me when I have all this money?

I'm not fucked no matter what happens. I know what's going on because my friends and I are the people who make it happen. Smoke-filled rooms? No, just an assuming little office building which you'd never look at twice. But the money we funnel into our bank accounts is quite sufficient anyways. Thanks, taxpayer. I'm just the middleman.

Citation?

Oh, and I'm Napoleon Bonaparte.

Well, the names "The Ancient Ones" and "Bavarian Illuminati" were already taken.

Oh wait. You say these are the same guys?

Never mind...
